To Overseed Or Not To Overseed, That Is The Question!
What is “overseeding”?
Overseeding…A turf grass management practice in the southern part of the United States which occurs during the fall season, when the bermudagrass used for greens, tee boxes, fairways and roughs begins to go dormant and turns a shade of yellow/gold/brown during the cooler weather. These areas are overseeded with cold temperature tolerant ryegrass each year. This is typically done to allow the courses to stay aesthetically green for winter play.
Walt Disney World® Golf Hosts A Taylormade® Golf Demo Day
Walt Disney World® Golf, operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management, is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a TaylorMade® Golf Demo Day, on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Disney’s Magnolia golf course, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
We will have the latest TaylorMade® Golf drivers, fairway woods, rescues and irons, including the brand new M1, M2 and PSi families of clubs, along with the latest generations of wedges and putters.
Walt Disney World® Golf Offers A Series Of Spring 2016 Junior Golf Camps
Walt Disney World® Golf, operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management, is offering a series of one-day Junior Golf Camps in the spring of 2016. These camps will follow the format of our very successful Holiday Junior Golf Camps in December 2015.
The camps are for golfers, ages 7 to 17 and will focus on full swing, short game, putting and on-course instruction, led by our PGA of America Professionals.
The Claret Jug Pays A Visit To Walt Disney World® Golf
On January 16, 2016, golf’s most famous trophy, the Claret Jug, paid a visit to Walt Disney World® Golf, operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management.
Mike Bender, golf coach for Zach Johnson, the 2015 Open Champion, visited Walt Disney World® Golf after a North Florida PGA meeting earlier in the week, to spend time with our staff and share the Claret Jug with us. Zach was playing in Hawaii, at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions and the Sony Open and left the Claret Jug with Mike to share with members at the recent NFPGA meeting.
Walt Disney World® Golf Completes Major Updates To Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course
Walt Disney World® Golf, operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management, recently completed a major refurbishment to Disney’s Magnolia golf course as part of our commitment to a multi-year upgrade and modernization program for the Walt Disney World® golf courses.
This past summer and fall, Disney’s Magnolia golf course closed for several weeks and received substantial updates to all 18 holes and the surrounding grounds.
Walt Disney World® Golf Enhances And Expands The Players Club Membership
In May 2013, Walt Disney World® Golf, operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management, introduced the Players Club membership program for Orlando Area residents. For a low monthly fee, members gained access to daily golf clinics taught by Michael Schlager our PGA Director of Instruction, unlimited driving range access and discounted fees to play our four golf courses.
