Walt Disney World® Golf Blog

Walt Disney World® Golf, operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management, will again be hosting the Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT) Open, October 28–29, 2017 at Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. We have hosted this event each year since 2013 and are pleased that the FCWT is returning for the fifth time in 2017.

The FCWT, founded in 1996, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping young men and women, ages 9–19, to showcase their talent as they pursue their dream of earning a college golf scholarship. The FCWT provides a venue of over 40 nationally ranked, junior golf tournaments across the United States during the fall, winter, and spring.

The event at Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course will consist of two rounds of 18 holes each. Boys will compete in three age divisions, 9–11, 12–14 and 15–19 playing from age group specific tees (Gold, Blue and White, respectively). Girls will compete in two age divisions, 9–14 and 15–19, also playing from age group specific tees (Gold and Red, respectively).

Junior golfers from the United States and many other countries participate in FCWT tournaments and a number have gone on to play both collegiate golf and professionally.

FCWT alumni on the PGA TOUR include: Rickie Fowler, Sergio Garcia, Hunter Mahan, Brooks Koepka, Cameron Tringale, Chesson Hadley, Robert Streb, Max Homa, Bud Cauley, Sam Saunders, Jon Curran, Mark Hubbard, Sean O’Hair, Tony Finau, Kyle Reifers, Daniel Berger, Spencer Levin, Peter Uihlein, Aaron Watkins and Patrick Rodgers.

FCWT alumnae on the LPGA Tour include: Jennifer Johnson, Morgan Pressel, Jessica Korda, Mina Harigae, Danielle Kang, Amelia Lewis, Ji Young Oh, Yueer Cindy Feng, Brooke Pancake, Sydnee Michaels, Christina Kim, Laetitia Beck, Julieta Granada, Cara Freeman and Nelly Korda.

We look forward to again welcoming the FCWT to the “Happiest Place on TURF!” and wish all players good luck!
