Walt Disney World® Golf Blog

In 2013, we began a multi-year commitment to enhance our golf courses, with major architectural updates to Disney's Palm Golf Course. That project was recognized by Golf Inc. magazine, taking second place in the 2015 Renovation of the Year awards for public golf courses.

We continued our commitment in 2014 by building brand new teeing grounds and extensive tree trimming at Disney’s Oak Trail which included an established set of Junior tees. Then in 2015, we brought significant enhancements to Disney's Magnolia Golf Course, with course-wide complete bunker re-builds.

This summer, we will fulfill our multi-year goal to providing our Guests with world-class facilities, by implementing major updates to both Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course and Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course.

At Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, we will be engaging in complete bunker renovations, similar to that of Disney’s Magnolia, including the reshaping and re-sodding of the bunker faces, improved bunker drainage and replacement of the aging grey sand with new pristine white sand.

This work is scheduled to take place from June 18 to August 10, beginning in conjunction with course aeration. From July 2 – August 10, the course will operate as a nine-hole course, as the front 9 holes and the back 9 holes, are completed in rotation. During this time period, 9-hole and 18-hole rounds will be available, with the latter consisting of playing the open 9 holes twice. Special discount programs will also be available. For the duration of this project, 9-hole play will be offered for only $26+tax, while 18-holes will only cost $39+tax, or you can choose to play during Twilight hours (after 3pm) for only $19, or $29, respectively. Disney Cast Members will receive an additional $5 - $10 discount, with a valid identification at time of check-in. Please call (407) WDW-GOLF (939-4653) to book your next tee time!

At Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course, we will be replacing all 9 greens with new surfaces, and restoring them to their original dimensions as the greens have shrunk dramatically with time. This will enhance the playability of the greens and the overall quality of the course. A Paspalum grass, never before utilized for putting surfaces here at Walt Disney World® Golf will be installed.

The work on the greens is scheduled to occur between June 25 and August 10. During this time, 9-hole play will be available on Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course as above, and special accommodations will be made for those who would normally play at Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course. You will be upgraded, and the regular pricing for Disney’s Oak Trail will be valid upon Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Championship golf course. The use of pull carts and forward tee box positions will also be made available during this period.

FootGolf play will continue, uninterrupted, at Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course, as our FootGolf Guests do not use the regular golf greens and they will be able to play the normal FootGolf 18-hole course all day long with play commencing at 7:00am daily during this date range. Standard rates apply, $22+tax for Day Guests, and $17+tax for Disney Resort Guests, Disney Vacation Club Members, Theme Park Annual Passholders, as well as valid U.S. Military members and their families.
