The World’s Largest Golf Outing: May 2, 2017

Sponsored by The Golf Channel and GolfNow and benefiting the Fisher House Foundation and Arnie’s Army, we are participating in the world’s single largest one-day golf event, which was first held in 2011. Fisher House Foundation is a non-profit, which is best known for a network of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. Arnie’s Army provides financial support to institutions and organizations that help children, youth, families, the environment and communities we live in.

The event will be held on Disney’s Palm Golf Course and will be comprised of four person teams, playing a scramble format round of 18 holes, with a shotgun start. Singles (limited number), two or four people may register together and singles and two-person teams that register will be paired with other players to create a single four-person team for the event.

The event is open to golfers of any skill level, age 13 years and older. At least two persons in a foursome, or one person in a twosome, must be over 18 years of age.

If you are interested in participating, more information and a registration form for the event is available.

Go Play Week: May 1 – 5, 2017

The Golf Channel and GolfNow are facilitating Go Play Week, which is a series of golf events during the first week of May 2017 to help increase participation in the game of golf.

Walt Disney World® Golf, operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management, will be actively participating in Go Play Week, with the following two special events:

Women’s Wednesday – On Wednesday, May 3, we will be focusing on increasing participation in the game by women, by promoting nine-hole rounds of golf, along with giveaways of selected women’s golf gear. During the day, we will be highlighting our Sunrise 9 offer, which includes 9 holes of golf, a pre-round hot breakfast sandwich and beverage, along with a post-round beverage. The Golf Channel will also be hosting special on-air programming during the day.

We will be conducting a FREE women’s only golf clinic from 10 am to 11 am, so feel free to join in after your morning round, or as warm-up before your afternoon round!

Family Golf Friday – On Friday, May 5, we will host a day focused on families playing golf together and increasing play by junior golfers. On Friday, as on Wednesday above, we will be highlighting both the Sunrise 9 offer, and that we offer junior golfers, under 18 years of age, a discount of 50% off the regular adult green fee rates.

We will also be hosting a putting contest on Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course practice green during the day, between 1pm and 5pm. The low junior score and low adult score winners will each receive certificates for two players for a free future round of golf!

Both the Sunrise 9 offer and junior golf discount rates are available every day, so if you can’t join us on these two special event days, we welcome you to join us when your schedule allows!
