We Are Thrilled to Introduce a New Disney Character-Inspired Statue and Photo Opportunity the Next Time You Visit “Grumpy’s Gauntlet” at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course!
Last year, Walt Disney World® Golf completed an extensive re-imagination of Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course, featuring many updates to the golf course, from the teeing grounds to the greens. One notable addition is “Grumpy’s Gauntlet”, a new challenge for our Guests consisting of holes 14 – 17. This new feature is named for the beloved character from Disney’s 1937 movie classic “Snow White”, where he famously said, “Mark my words … there’s trouble a-brewin’!” as seen in the video clip below…
As an integral part of the introduction of “Grumpy’s Gauntlet”, we are thrilled to unveil a new statue of Grumpy himself, located adjacent to the 14th teeing ground, at the entrance to the eponymous four-hole stretch. As seen in the top photo, this area will provide an exciting and memorable new photo opportunity for our Guests as you prepare to take on the next four holes and will create a new and cherished way to commemorate your golfing experience with us! Be sure to look closely for a couple of hidden “gems” featured in the statue, his club, a 7 iron as a nod to his fellow dwarfs, and a replicated golf ball from 1937, a nod to the original film’s release date.
In conjunction with the introduction of the new statue, we have a new line of merchandise in our golf shops featuring Grumpy’s Gauntlet and his signature quote. As seen in the photos below, these new items will include pin flags, towels, golf balls (individual and six-pack boxes), long-sleeve shirts, and other items for yourself, playing partners, family, friends, and others as personal mementos of your experience or as gifts.
