Walt Disney World® Golf Announces Two Key Enhancements To Our Guest Playing Experience, Including The Return Of Roving Food And Beverage Carts!

Walt Disney World® Golf, operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management, is pleased to announce two key enhancements to our Guest playing experience.

First, in response to overwhelming feedback from our Guests, we are re-introducing roving food and beverage carts on each of our golf courses!

In late 2015, we introduced Chip and Dale as our Food and Beverage Ambassadors and in the fall of 2016, we completed an extensive expansion of and enhancements to our fixed food and beverage locations, both on and off course. Based upon broad golf industry research regarding approaches to improving pace of play, it had been demonstrated that utilizing fixed food and beverage locations around the courses, rather than roving carts, would save around 15 minutes per round and many golf courses began to implement this approach.

We have a goal at Walt Disney World® Golf of being able to play a round of 18 holes in under four and a half hours and are sensitive to pace of play issues. In late 2015, we also introduced Jiminy Cricket as our Pace of Play Ambassador to raise awareness of additional ways to reduce the time to play a round and so we adopted the fixed food and beverage locations at that same time.

However, even with the best of intentions in mind, our Guests have been consistent in letting us know that they much prefer the roving food and beverage carts.

Thus, we have listened to your comments, and in the coming weeks, you can expect to see the introduction of brand New Disney-character themed roving food and beverage carts on each of our golf courses. There will be a total of four of them, each themed differently, rotating around our courses, with a selection of food and beverage items for your enjoyment. Be sure to spot all four of them as you play, and don’t miss out on this great new photo opportunity!

There will still be the fixed locations listed on our Food and Beverage offerings page for your enjoyment, in addition to the roving carts.

In addition to the above change, and also in the context of improving our Guest experience and pace of play, we have migrated to 9-minute tee time intervals between each of our scheduled tee times. This is a change from 8-minute intervals, giving each group an additional minute. We have found that even though it is only a one-minute difference in the intervals, over the course of 18 holes, it reduces the frequency of foursomes at tee boxes waiting for slower groups in front of them. In the end, it helps to improve pace of play and therefore increases satisfaction with the overall playing experience for our Guests.

One result of the increase in the time intervals between tee times is that it reduces the number of tee times available to our Guests each day. Thus, at times of peak demand on the courses, we will open up additional tee times to start on the number 10 tee to accommodate the additional Guests requesting to play our facilities, but done so in a manner that should not result in conflicts for groups making the turn after playing their first 9-holes.

We hope that you will find these changes to be positive, as we continue to work hard to raise the bar on what it means to experience Walt Disney World® Golf.

We look forward to welcoming you to the “Happiest Place on TURF!”
